The
Eudora Welty House Garden

The Welty garden is a southern garden created by two educated women, typical of
those created during the period between the two World Wars.
When
Eudora's parents built the Welty home in 1925 in Jackson's first subdivision,
Chestina Welty selected loblolly pines trees and one water
oak to remain on the lot. Over the years several of the pines have been
lost to lightning, but the oak tree stands as the focal point of the front
yard.
