Volunteers partner with MDAH employees to serve as guardians of our stateís history. From behind-the-scenes to up-close and personal, there very well may be a volunteer opportunity that is a match for you. Our department strives to maintain a community-based volunteer resource that is diverse, knowledgeable, talented, and skilled.

The rewards and benefits of volunteering with us are many. There is much prestige and honor serving as one of our ambassadors to people from many cultures. Volunteers receive a 15% discount on most merchandise at Mississippi History Store locations (Old Capitol Museum, Eudora Welty House, and through mail orders). Active volunteers are included in volunteer appreciation activities provided by the Museum Division and/or the site(s) with which you are volunteering. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the department. Appropriate volunteer candidates are referred directly to the person who supervises these projects.
