They established a coalition for the purpose of launching a ratification campaign for the Equal Rights Amendment. The coalition comprised NOW (National Organization for Women), the AFL-CIO, the Jackson Women’s Coalition, the Mississippi Nurses Association, the League of Women Voters, and the AAUW (the American Association of University Women).
