Saturday, July 21, 1:00 p.m. at Winterville Mounds. Music of the Delta, Winterville Mounds director Mark Howell will examine the different kinds of music heard in the Delta from Prehistoric times to the present using recorded audio samples and playing musical instruments. Wednesday-Friday, October 31- November 2, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at Winterville Mounds. Native American Days 2012. Meet Native American members of the Choctaw, Seminole, Cherokee, and Houma Nation and experience traditional music, dance, and storytelling. Activities will include Native American arts and crafts, games, food, and primitive weapon. Project S.O.A.R. (Save Our American Raptors), the USDA Wildlife, and the Southern Traditional Archery Association will also be present. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
