    • Saturday, May 18, 8:45 a.m.–5 p.m. at Historic Jefferson College. Big YamPotatoes Old Time Music Concert and Fiddle Contest.     • Tuesday-Friday, June 4-7, 9 a.m.–noon at Historic Jefferson College. Pioneer Camp. Children ages 6-8 learn about Pioneer life in the early 1800s. The day camp features hands-on activities such as quilting, soap-making, animal life, and frontier camp.     • Monday–Wednesday, June 24–26, 1–4 p.m. at Historic Jefferson College. Frontier Survival Camp.     • Tuesday–Thursday, July 9–11, 9 a.m.–noon at Historic Jefferson College. Civil War Adventure Camp. Young Civil War enthusiasts ages 8-12 are encouraged to sign up for this camp for a unique look at the Civil War from a soldier’s point of view.  Boys and girls will learn how to drill and parade, get a black powder rifle demonstration, and learn about the gear necessary for survival while in the military.  Cost is $35, pre-registration is required.  For more information call 601-442-2901 or email Jefferson College.
