The Traveling Exhibits Program has interviewed several different shipping companies in order to meet the needs of program participants.  These two companies understand the policies and procedures of the program and your needs as exhibitors.               

You are free to receive quotes from any other reputable shipping company that will transport exhibits.  With any company selected, we ask that once you have received a Bill of Lading, please fax a copy to the previous exhibiting institution from which the exhibit will be picked up. Most shipping companies work with a strict payment on delivery status and do not accept purchase orders. If you need additional assistance with loading and unloading the exhibit, please inform the shipper beforehand because this may increase shipping charges.

The shipping company must call Museum Division staff one day in advance for pick up at warehouse.

Exhibitors are to transport exhibits in covered vehicles with the understanding that most traveling exhibits require a full-size van. Please pay attention to the dimensions of crates. When using shipping companies, exhibitors must complete and fax Mississippi Department of Archives and History, Museum Division a copy of the Bill of Lading. Call the Outreach Programs Coordinator to set up an appointment for pick-up.
