The Frank E. Everett, Jr. Award will be awarded as merited to the historical society that has made outstanding contributions to the preservation and interpretation of local history.

The Frank E. Everett, Jr. Award was established by the Mississippi Historical Society to memorialize Everett, who was the first president of the society following its reorganization in 1953. Everett was instrumental in establishing the Vicksburg and Warren County Historical Society and in helping preserve the Old Warren County Courthouse and also served for many years as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.

Frank E. Everett, Jr. Award forms are attached. Submit nominations and supporting materials by December 1, 2014, to Awards Committee, Mississippi Historical Society, P. O. Box 571, Jackson, MS  39205-0571. The physical address is the William F. Winter Archives and History Building, 200 North Street, Jackson, MS  39201. If merited, the award will be presented at the annual meeting of the Mississippi Historical Society, which will be held March 5-7, 2015, in Corinth.
