Dunbar Rowland Award
The Dunbar Rowland Award will be awarded as merited to an individual who has made lifelong contributions to the preservation, study, and interpretation of Mississippi history.
The award memorializes Dunbar Rowland, first director of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, and is presented to recognize an individual’s lifelong contributions to the preservation, study, and interpretation of Mississippi history.
Submit nominations and supporting materials to be considered by December 3, 2013, to Awards Committee, Mississippi Historical Society, P. O. Box 571, Jackson, MS 39205-0571. The physical address is the William F. Winter Archives and History Building, 200 North Street, Jackson, MS 39201. If merited, the award will be presented at the annual meeting of the Mississippi Historical Society, which will be held March 6-8, 2014, in Jackson.
