B.L.C. Wailes Award
The B.L.C. Wailes Award will be awarded as merited to a Mississippian who has achieved national distinction in the field of history.
The B.L.C. Wailes Award, which memorializes the Society’s founder and first president, was established by the Mississippi Historical Society to honor native and adopted Mississippians who have achieved national distinction in the field of history. The Wailes Award is the Mississippi Historical Society’s highest honor.
Submit nominations and supporting materials to be considered by December 1, 2014, to Awards Committee, Mississippi Historical Society, P. O. Box 571, Jackson, MS 39205-0571. The physical address is the William F. Winter Archives and History Building, 200 North Street, Jackson, MS 39201. If merited, the award will be presented at the annual meeting of the Mississippi Historical Society, which will be held March 5-7, 2015, in Corinth.
