Records retention schedules have been approved by the Mississippi Local Government Records Committee for use by local governments.

Counties should use all general schedules for counties and any retention schedules approved specifically for by that county. 

Municipalities should use all general schedules for municipalities and any retention schedules approved specifically for that municipality.

School districts should use all general schedules for school districts and any retention schedules approved specifically for that school district.

Community and Junior Colleges should use all general schedules for community and junior colleges.

Libraries should use all general schedules for libraries.

Public airports should use all general schedules for airports.
