Now – February 14, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Eudora Welty Education and Visitor Center. Life into Fiction: The Murder of Medgar Evers and “Where is the Voice Coming From?” The exhibit will examine how that event impelled Eudora Welty to write one of the most gripping and political stories of her career, as well as the repercussions Welty faced after her story was published in The New Yorker. Pages from Welty’s original manuscript draft, the July 1963 issue of The New Yorker, in which the story was published, photographs, and other related artifacts will be featured.
