Pictorial History: Mississippi Agriculture and Industry, Arranged by Mississippi W.P.A. Historical Research Project.

"In Mississippi cotton is the big cash crop and where in years past it was thought that its growing was limited to only areas especially adapted. With the development of special seed and fertilizers the areas have increased as well as the yield, so in the state of Mississippi 'Cotton is King.' Upper Left: Cotton blooming in Clark County. Lower Left: Cotton gin at Woodville, Wilkinson County. Upper Right: Cotton being grown in a pecan grove, in Harrison County; a good growth when it is taken into account that the location is the southern part of the country. Lower Right: Cotton gin at Liberty, Amite County."
