Two Museums…One Mississippi

Exhibit Design Team for MCRM

In October 2011, requests for proposals for exhibit design of the Museum of Mississippi History (MMH) and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum (MCRM) were sent to over seventy exhibit design firms nationwide and advertisements were placed in The Clarion-Ledger newspaper and website. Twenty-eight firms submitted proposals for exhibits for one or both museums.  MDAH staff, Department of Finance and Administration staff, and representatives from both the Governor’s Office and the MCRM Advisory Commission evaluated the proposals.  The top four firms for each project were brought in for on-site presentations and interviews in November 2011.  After a last round of evaluation, Hilferty and Associates was chosen for the Civil Rights Museum and Design Minds for the Museum of Mississippi History.
